Hotel Films Germany: Resort and Hotel Films from the Alps
We produce hotel and resort films for the German Alps — from the Berchtesgadener Land through the Chiemgau to Upper Bavaria. Based in Salzburg, 20 minutes from the border, specialised in alpine hospitality rather than city advertising.
Why an Austrian production company for a German property
A resort in the Bavarian Alps has more in common with Zell am See than with Munich.
Alpine hospitality has its own requirements: two peak seasons instead of one, weather windows instead of a fixed schedule, cable car operators as shooting partners, snow and altitude logistics. A team working mostly in the city does not pick that up along the way — we have done little else for over two decades.
For properties in the Berchtesgadener Land and the Chiemgau we are closer than most production companies in Munich or Nuremberg. A short journey means shoot days that can be moved at short notice — and in the mountains that is exactly what decides image quality.
Based in Salzburg: around 20 minutes to Berchtesgaden, about an hour to the Chiemgau, roughly 90 minutes to Munich.
Working across the border
The questions German clients ask most often — answered up front.
Invoicing
As a service between two EU businesses, invoicing normally runs through the reverse charge mechanism: we invoice without VAT and you account for it domestically. Worth a quick check with your tax adviser for your specific case.
Language & team
German-speaking team, German-language post-production, English versions on request. No translation effort on your side.
Travel & equipment
Within the EU there are no customs or carnet formalities for camera and drone equipment. Travel is included in the quote.
Drone flights
The EU drone licence applies equally in Germany and Austria. Location-specific permits are obtained before the shoot day.

Frequently asked questions
Hotel films and resort video production in Germany
What does a hotel film in Germany cost?
A hotel or resort film starts at around €3,500 including drone footage, post-production and travel. The price depends mainly on the number of shoot days, the number of locations and the edit versions required. For two-season projects with summer and winter shoots we put together package quotes.
Can a German hotel hire an Austrian production company?
Yes, and within the EU it is straightforward. For services between two businesses the reverse charge mechanism normally applies: we invoice without VAT and you account for the tax domestically. For how this applies in your specific case, please check briefly with your tax adviser.
How far into Germany do you travel?
From Salzburg we reach Berchtesgaden in around 20 minutes, the Chiemgau in about an hour and Munich in roughly 90 minutes. In the Berchtesgadener Land and the Chiemgau single shoot days are straightforward. For more distant regions such as the Allgäu we plan multi-day productions and quote travel and accommodation transparently.
Do you need a separate licence for drone flights in Germany?
The EU drone licence applies equally in Germany and Austria, so no additional licence is required. Location and site-specific permits — in protected areas, near settlements or on cable car property — are obtained before the shoot day.
Why choose a provider from the Alps rather than Munich?
Because alpine hospitality demands different production work than city advertising: two peak seasons, weather windows, altitude and cable car logistics. We work almost exclusively in this environment. For properties in the Berchtesgadener Land and the Chiemgau we are also closer than most Munich-based productions.
Do you shoot photography alongside the video production?
Yes, and in the alpine environment that is usually the most economical option. Since the demanding parts are the travel, the setup and the weather window, we produce photo and video within the same shoot block.
