Security Notice: Fraudulent Emails Sent in the Name of Skyline Medien
Last updated: 6 May 2026
Fraudulent emails claiming alleged copyright infringements are currently being sent in the name of Skyline Medien. These messages do not come from Skyline Medien. We are working to identify the senders and have reported the incident to the responsible authorities.
How to recognise a fake email
The fake emails we are aware of share the following characteristics:
- Sender address from external services such as noreply@appsheet.com – not from an @skyline.at address
- Fictitious sender names (e.g. "Alma Hudson")
- Subject lines around alleged copyright infringements or "Notice of intellectual property review"
- References to German copyright law, although Skyline Medien is based in Austria
- PDF attachment containing an alleged "proof of copyright infringement"
- Disconnected text at the end of the message (spam-filter evasion)
- Threats of escalating cease-and-desist notices and legal action
What to do if you have received such an email
- Do not reply and do not open any attachments – the PDF attachment may contain malware
- Do not make any payments, including for an "out-of-court settlement"
- Delete the email or mark it as spam
- If unsure, please contact us directly: office@skyline.at
